Find the right meds at your pharmacy? First see a doctor!

Image

Going straight to your pharmacy without seeing a doctor may end up making you more sick than you are. And if you’re searching online, you could be popping a pill that’s all wrong for you.

Use a pharmacy close to you

Use the same pharmacy for all your health needs. The Unu app can help with this. Just allow the app to track your location (like Google Maps or Waze does).

It will recommend nearby pharmacies at our partners Dis-Chem, Medirite, Clicks, Pick n Pay and Alpha Pharm, so you won’t need to travel too far or take time off work.

Sort out common conditions with your pharmacist

Build a close relationship with your pharmacist. There’s a lot they can help you with, like:

  • coughs, colds and flu

  • tummy trouble

  • aches and pains

  • skin rashes

  • cystitis (minor bladder infections)

  • birth control and pregnancy tests

  • repeat prescriptions

You can also chat to them about the meds your doctor has prescribed. But the important thing is that they understand you and your health history.

Share your health record so they can see your full history

A great way to do this is to share your Unu health record with them. As you use the Unu app, it will add all your medical info in the background.

Get a doctor and pharmacist on your team

Through Unu, your doctor and pharmacist will work together to make sure you’re using medicines that are safe to take.

Get advice from a trusted source not an online search

Your pharmacist will also be able to give you advice on:

  • what each medicine does

  • side effects, reactions or interactions with other medicines

  • how much, how often, and for how long you should take the medicine

  • how exactly the medicine should be taken, e.g. by mouth, inhaled, inserted, or applied to your skin

  • whether the medicine should be taken with or without food

  • what happens if you miss a dose

  • how the medicine should be stored, e.g. in the fridge or away from sunlight

  • when the medicine should be thrown away

  • Get scripts filled at no cost if it’s covered by your plan

Once your doctor has sent a script to your inbox, you can collect your meds and chat to your pharmacist if you need more info. And you won’t pay a cent if it’s covered by your plan!

Stop those searches and see a doctor

With Unu, you are in control, with access to medicine that’s right for you. So, stop those searches. See a doctor and get a script – from the app, in bed at home!
